π Back to School Update from Leeds Public School β 2025-2026 School Year! π
Weβre gearing up for another great year at Leeds! Here are a few important updates as we head into the new school year:
π Welcome New Staff & Role Updates!
Weβre excited to welcome Mr. Jarrel McGarvey as our new 5th Grade Teacher!
Ms. Maddy Severson is returning and will be teaching 4th grade this year.
Ms. Malayna Barendt has moved to the Preschool room as teacher and will serve as an interventionist on her non-preschool days.
Mrs. Lauren Follman will now serve as a part-time School Counselor and part-time Behavior Interventionist and MTSS Coordinator.
π¨ Preschool Schedule Update
To better align with our high school block schedule, preschool will now be held on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays during the 2025-26 school year.
π Junior High & High School Registration
Students in grades 7β12 should plan to attend registration on Wednesday, August 6th from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
π« Open House
Join us on Thursday, August 14th from 5:00β7:00 PM to meet teachers, tour the building, and drop off school supplies. Join us for a picnic lunch prepared by our School Board members.
π School Supply Lists
Supply lists for all grade levels are attached to this post to help with back-to-school shopping.
Reminder, all elementary students need clean gym shoes that should stay at the school and not be worn outside. Velcro preferred if your child is unable to tie his/her own shoes. Additionally, students should have water bottles for PE class - no glass bottles, no single use plastic water bottles, no cups.

Weβre excited to share that our gym floor has been newly refinished and looks amazingβjust in time for a great school year ahead!
π Important Reminder for BCW State Champs Basketball camp participants:
As we host the camp tomorrow, Wednesday, July 16th, please make sure to wear clean tennis shoes on the court.
π« No street shoes allowed β any shoes that have been worn outside must be clean and free of rocks, dirt, or debris before stepping onto the gym floor.

Sports season is right around the corner. Get your sports physicals scheduled. All athletes need to have a physical prior to the first day of practice. All completed sports forms should be turned into the Leeds School Office.
Girls Golf Starts August 4th.
Football Starts August 7th.
Cross Country Starts August 11th.
Volleyball Starts August 18th.

As a reward for our student's hard work this year, especially during MTSS time, we are heading to Dockside Entertainment in Devils Lake the last week of school. Grades PK-4 will be attending on Monday, May 19th and grades 5-12 will attend on Tuesday, May 20th. Both groups will be there from 9 am to 11 am. We will leave by 8:25 each day.

The 5th graders just completed a Volume Zoo. This was an interactive project where they explored how to calculate the volume of 3D shapes. From cubes to rectangular prisms, these students showed off their math skills with confidence. Way to go, 5th grade! Weβre so proud of your focus and teamwork!

Fourth graders finished up their ND Habitats unit by making box replicas of the Wetlands, Prairie, Badlands, Woodlands, and Riparian Areas. They worked so hard at these and they turned out great!πΎπ³βοΈ
