⛳️ **A little friendly competition to wrap up the season!**

The girls had their final practice tonight, and we decided to make it interesting with a **Seniors vs. Underclassmen match!**

The seniors came out on top in **stroke play**, but the underclassmen won **more individual holes**—so naturally, we needed a tiebreaker. 😄

A **long drive contest** would settle the score…and **Hailey absolutely crushed it**, bringing the seniors down and giving the underclassmen the final bragging rights! 💪⛳️

These girls have been an absolute blast to coach this season. Lots of laughs, plenty of competition, and some great memories along the way!

❤️💙 **Next up: Regional Golf!**
The girls head to **Minot on Wednesday** for the Regional Golf Meet, with competition beginning at **9:00 AM**.

Good luck, ladies! Finish strong! 🏌️‍♀️⛳️

❤️ **Celebrating Our Grandparents!** ❤️

On Friday, September 11, Leeds School was proud to welcome our grandparents for a special **Grandparents Day celebration!**

We are so thankful for the grandparents who joined us and, more importantly, for the special role grandparents play in the lives of our students. Your love, encouragement, wisdom, and support help shape our students in so many meaningful ways.

Thank you to everyone who spent the morning with us. We loved having you in our school and giving our students the opportunity to share a little piece of their school day with some very special people!

**Thank you, grandparents, for all you do for our students and families!** 💙💛

🏀 **Elementary Girls Basketball Schedule Update** 🏀

We apologize for the confusion, but the elementary girls basketball game originally listed for tomorrow was scheduled in error.

**The game will be TODAY in New Rockford at the Brown Memorial Building at 4:30 PM.**

Thank you to our families for your understanding and flexibility in helping make sure the girls are able to attend and play today!

Best of luck to our team! We may be **young, but we are mighty!** 💪🏀 Every game is a great opportunity for these girls to gain experience, build their skills, and grow as a team.

📅 **Schedule Change:** The game against Lakota in Leeds has been rescheduled for **October 6.** Please update your calendars.

Go Leeds! 🏀

Patrick Streyle from Bravera Bank stopped by today and gifted the kindergarteners with T-shirts that say “Class of 2039” to celebrate the exciting milestone of entering kindergarten. They get to keep these as they grow up into seniors as a keepsake for years to come. Thank you Bravera Bank!

🏀 **HELP NEEDED – ELEMENTARY SPORTS** 🏀

Leeds School is proud to offer our students many opportunities to participate in athletics. Providing these opportunities, especially at the elementary level, takes the support of our school and community.

**We need additional help for our upcoming elementary basketball season!**

We are currently looking for:
⏱️ **Game Clock Workers**
🏀 **Officials/Referees**

Many of our older student-athletes who have helped in the past are busy competing in their own fall sports seasons. At the same time, many of our staff members are already helping cover **bus routes, activity driving, coaching, and other school responsibilities**, which limits the number of people we have available to work elementary games.

In order for us to continue scheduling and hosting these games, **we need additional community members willing to help.** You don't have to commit to the entire season—even helping with a game or two would make a big difference.

If you are willing to help, please contact **Mrs. Eberle or the Leeds School office at 701-466-2461.**

**We want to continue providing these opportunities for our kids, but it takes people willing to help make them happen. Thank you for supporting Leeds School and our students!**

Stick welding progress. Overlay flat welds. The progress is awesome to see. Students are figuring out the heat and speed now. With 4 out of the 7 students getting the flux to lift off the beads on its own. Plasma cutting, grinding, and GMAW soon to come.

Students in Invention and Innovation had to use the Engineering Design Process to solves a problem. Using only cardboard, nails, and hot glue, build a coin separator and document the process. Working through failed attempts and multiple changes to the original design both successfully worked!

In addition to the 7th - 12th grade September School Counseling Newsletter, I would like to share a couple of scholarship opportunities for 5th - 12th grade students (Due October 31):

The Patriot’s Pen program is open to students in grades 6–8 and challenges participants to write an original 300–400-word essay on an annual patriotic theme. Eligible students must be enrolled in a public, private, parochial, or home-study program and submit their entry through a participating VFW Post. The national first-place award is $5,000. Judging is based on knowledge of the theme, theme development, and clarity of ideas.

The Voice of Democracy program is open to students in grades 9–12. Participants prepare and record an original 3–5 minute audio essay in their own voice on the annual patriotic theme. Eligible students must be enrolled in a public, private, parochial, or home-study program and submit their entry through a participating VFW Post. The national first-place scholarship award is $35,000. Judging is based on originality, content, and delivery.

Both programs encourage civic engagement, constitutional understanding, patriotism, and appreciation for the service and sacrifices of America’s veterans. They also provide students with meaningful opportunities to strengthen their writing, research, critical thinking, and communication skills. [vfw.org]

If you are looking for more scholarship opportunities, feel free to reach out or check the Counseling Tab on our school website.
